With a degree in architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology, Marshall focuses on the composition of every space he designs. Close attention is paid to scale and proportion, as well as function and comfort. The furniture and finishes follow, and are chosen in close collaboration with the client. With a vast knowledge of art, antiques and textiles, as well as an appreciation for excellent craftsmanship, Marshall curates and edits each selection to create a unique collection that flows from room to room.

Appreciated for his friendly, easygoing nature and superb attention to detail, Marshall alleviates the stress commonly associated with construction and design projects. His greatest desire is for his clients’ homes to be a perfect reflection of their taste and lifestyle. “Whether traditional or modern, city or country, a home should be a place that functions beautifully. We create homes that stand the test of time and trend.”

He launched his interior design firm in 1998 and promptly established a diverse clientele in Chicago. Recognition, publication and new commissions across the country and internationally soon followed. Marshall has been named “Ones to Watch” by the Merchandise Mart and one of “20 Young Designers to Watch” by Traditional Home. His work has been featured in LUXE Interiors + Design, Chicago Tribune, CS Interiors, Décor, Traditional Home, Renovation Style and Sophisticated Living, among others.

Envisioned as a grand entrance hall in a vintage New York apartment and designed for a sophisticated, internationally influenced couple, the foyer showcases an incredible collection of art and Art Deco inspired furnishings. The space is full of depth and rich in detail, but feels edited, elegant and edgy. Classic, yet simple architectural details create the perfect backdrop for the carefully curated collection and the lifestyle of the elegant couple that wanted the space to set the tone for their entire home.
